“This build was always going to be a challenge. As the owner / Architect, I was very aware of how difficult this build would be. Then add; difficult access (particularly in wet weather, it rained the entire build), Covid interruptions, resulting in cost and delivery blow outs in timber (which constitutes 90% of the whole house) and limited material supplies. Throw in an unconventional design that ensured that most actions had to be very carefully thought out prior to execution and you have a recipe for calamity! Yet GWW managed to get through all this and produce a building that is a delight for me, the architect client and everyone who visits. Well done Matt!”

We asked for a modest but stylish and sustainable beach home with disability access. We had ideas, visions and some tricky requests - the massive stained glass window being one of them. Matt worked with us to realise our Coledale pool window, designed by acclaimed Blue Mountains artist Julie Patterson, against a brief of the coledale pool #Dharawal country. Matt and Jane are problem solvers. That’s what you want. Also the carpenters top class. Gorgeous details - The interior ply lining had to be just so and they did it just so! The staircase bookcase ditto. The accounting and billing was transparent (shock horror) and we had no hidden nasties to speak of. We love our home. Visitors adore it. The way it speaks to the escarpment and the sea. The privacy. Did I mention the window? Three hats.”
